What One Does When One's Machine Is In The Shop, Day Three

One resorts to cleaning out closets...

Day Three of The Machine Fast. I may not be Ghandi, but it still hurts. Since my Pfaff is in the shop, I resorted to Spring cleaning and serger sewing. I culled, cleaned, reorganized and decorated my bathroom closet. I made little slipcases for each sheet set, using a different print to designate bed sizes. I used fabrics from my stash so the cost was nil-and-none. And I significantly busted some stash. Baskets hold household supplies. Papercrafted labels with rag ties make contents known. Wire racks on the back of the door make every bit of space count. Finally, I added some rose-scented sachets. So now it not only looks pretty, but it smells nice as well. :)

I love your idea for keeping sheets together! Sheet sets are such a mess in my linen closet. What a great solution you came up with. I might have "borrow" your idea.

Hi Thanks for stopping in on my blog. It gave me a chance to also visit you! Isn't it nice to meet folks from all over with your same interests? It was exciting to hear that we have so much in common. Keep up your good work, I'll check back often. Happy Sewing!

What a great idea to keep them neat. I can fold the flat sheets fine, it is the fitted ones give me FITS (guess that name fits)LOL.
With your idea they would look tidy. I know it is hard to live without your machine. I'm not sure how I stumbled on your Blog, but I am glad I did,LOVE your projects.MISSY

Oh what a wonderful idea of using different colors for different sizes. I always used one of the pillow cases to put the set into but I never know which size is what. I think I'll have to steal your idea and make some up.

Hugs!!!

Cat - this will sound really obsessive, but my main reason for making the bags was because the sheets were all different colors and prints. It looked chaotic no matter how neatly I folded things. Pretty is important to me. This way the colors and patterns are uniform. I've decided from now on I will be buying only white sheets and towels. That way things can be bleached as well.

Stay strong Sweetie, you will make it. As my great grandmother always said," This to shall end."
Love the closets, mine are a mess, maybe I should put my computer in the shop. No, that wouldn't help, I would have to put my garden in the shop to get anything done inside this time of year!
