Alphabet Adventures - "Q is for Quilt "

Next up on my alphabetic creative ventures is the Letter Q and the word "Quilt." Today I decided to pull out my Japanese Lavender Quilt and do a bit more work on edge finishing the fused appliques. The design's branches are done by needle turn applique while the leaves and blossoms are done with fuse-and-buttonhole stitch. I have only about 18 more of the leaves to complete and the quilt top will be ready for basting, quilting and binding. This is the quilt that is headed to Nana's House, a safe house for young girls separated from their parents.

Here is a sample of what the buttonhole edge finishing looks like.
