Skirt #22..."Tropical Seas"

Finished the strip-pieced skirt featured in the tutorial below. I only have one more Size 6 to do and we will be done with that size range. Will post the last when I get it done. I have it cut out, but haven't started assembling it yet.

Tropical Seas is really cute! Do you think this technique would work on well-worn denim? I have a bunch of old jeans but the denim is still very serviceable. I thought it might make a cute skirt.

I do think that would be cute, Paula. Especially with like a red bandana trim, piping, applique or belt. However, I've never tried it. I think you'd have to have really tough thread. My Coats and Clark thread kept snapping until I just wanted to scream. And usually you use a jean needle with denim, especially to top-stitch through two layers. Not sure a twin needle would be tough enough? There's no way to know unless you try it on a sample. From a style perspective, I think it's an awesome idea.
