Hope Springs Eternal

I wish I had taken a Before picture! I found this little wood banner for a dime at a local store. It was a 70s era looking I Love My Teacher thing. Hideous, but for a dime...??? I figured it was a cheaper blank than I could buy at Michael's. I was in the mood to do something with birds. And that led to a Spring theme and the addition of some Beatrix Potter clippings from a vintage children's book.

I'm Dreaming of a Black and White Christmas

I love the crisp yet decidedly feminine appeal of the French Chic look. When I found these glitter snowballs recently, I decided they would make marvelous French Chic ornaments. I had great fun matching up the ribbons and bits of vintage jewelry for each ornament. I need to retake photos on that last one. It's a little too bright today for outside photography. NOT that I'm complaining. Bright in Alaska in late September is a very good thing.

These are available on Etsy. See my link in the sidebar.

All Dressed Up

I'm having fun preparing my inventory for their trip to the boutique store. I met with the owner today and she said they'd take as much inventory as I wanted to give them. She likes my things and particularly noted that they were high quality. That was nice to hear because when you're making something you always notice that one little bit of crooked cutting or that spot of glue that you missed! I'm going to be hard-pressed to supply inventory locally AND keep my Etsy store stocked, but will do the best I can.

I bought some little retail baggies today for my tags and hand-crafted cards. I made topper from vintage wallpaper. The store uses their own labels so I left the baggie toppers blank for that purpose. Each baggie depicted below has two tags in them, back to back so that the tags show in front and back. I'm supposed to set prices myself and since I haven't done a lot of selling locally, I'm kind of in the dark as to what to ask. I was thinking $3.50 a bag? I noticed that comparable tags on Etsy were selling for about $2.00 each.

Off to make hang-tags for the pillows and to baggie up baby cards and Christmas tags....

On the Work Table

I'm making a fun set of tags for a local boutique. I'm using pages from a vintage baby name book for the background. The main motif are babies cut from a vintage book of Sewing For Babies. I'm at the fun part now. Figuring out the final embellishment. I'm thinking paper flowers from pink toile and dotted papers...

And just up on Etsy. Two craft packs of vintage wallpaper!

Make Your Own Tag Blanks

I have loved, loved, loved this vintage 40s era wallpaper that I found several years ago. I will be soooo sad when it is gone. I used a 12 inch square of it tonight to create these romantic tags. I am making them available as do-it-yourself blanks ready for embellishing with your personal finishing touches! On Etsy for $7.00. Search my Etsy shop, FluffAndNonsense.

Movin' On Over To Etsy

I have decided to ratchet it down a notch in the home business department. I will be selling less on Ebay, just the occasional household item or exceptional treasure-hunting find. Instead, I will be selling in two stores on Etsy and much more "gently" so. Sweet Home Habits (etsy user name, sweethomehabits) will be my venue for my hand-crafted items. A new store, Fluff and Nonsense (etsy user name, FluffAndNonsense) will be supply-focused. I am really excited about Fluff And Nonsense as I absolutely ADORE treasure-hunting, even more so than crafting. Several times a week I will be placing my one-of-a-kind found goodies in the store for fellow crafters needing unique inspiration. The inventory will be constantly changing. Where appropriate I will give ideas for what to create with such treasures and where possible, a photo of a completed craft for inspiration. Please feel free to stop by. I will need to update my contact info in the side bar, but for now you can find my store by clicking here

Here is a sample of some of this week's finds now featured at Fluff And Nonsense:

Vintage Paper Angels: These would be adorable as embellishments on journals, victorian favor cones, and in collages. How about atop the peak of a shadowbox? Or simply use as they are as ornaments or package toppers.

Have you ever noticed how hard it is to find just the right text for your collages and altered art projects? Here are 32 vintage song titles that are perfect for your papercraft projects.

Come on over and see what else has found its way to Fluff And Nonsense!
